7.1 is a VERY old version. DB2 LUW is now at 10.5
I don't think you can upgrade directly from 7.1 to 10.5. Check IBM doc

At a basic level, you install DB2 on the new server, take a full backup on the old server and restore the backup on the new server.

You will not be able to migrate directly from V7.1 to 10.5 using backup. DB2 will only let you do that one level back. You would have to go to V8.2, then 9.7, then 10.5. Both V7.1 and 8.2 are out of service so you will not be able to get images for creating a server at that level. I would recommend that you use db2look and db2move to do the migration.

Oh my, I just hope it's a trivial database structure. In fact 7.1 Enterprise edition support ended in 2003

"All parts should go together without forcing. You must remember that the parts you are reassembling were disassembled by you. Therefore, if you can’t get them together again, there must be a reason. By all means, do not use hammer.” — IBM maintenance manual, 1975 "
