Unanswered: How to restore the original database

    Good morning,

I've recently recieved the dump file (.dmp files stored in my machine and not on a server) of the soon to be migrated Oracle Database (system oracle 10g).

I've installed Oracle 12c and now i need to restore the original database.

Can anyone give me a step to step procedure on how to restore it from the .dmp file ?

    Thank you.

You are going to have problems loading the DMP file if you build the database with CDB's. If you do NOT use that option when building the database the export dmp file will load in with no problems. I loaded a dmp file from an oracle 8i database directly into a new 12C database and it all went in with no issues.
