    Unanswered: rsync permission denied issue

    Team

    I facing permission denied issue while rsync command to target node
    Postgre sql installed in both nodes

    Node1: /var/lib/pgsql/9.4/data/
    Node2: /var/lib/pgsql/9.4/data/

    when I try to execute below steps Iam facing issue

    Executes below commands in primary server(node1)

    a. Sudo su postgres
    b. psql -c "select pg_start_backup('initial_backup');"
    c. rsync -cva --inplace --exclude=*pg_xlog* INSTALLATION_DIRECTORY_DATA Slave-IPaddress(node2):INSTALLATION_DATA_DIRECTORY
    d. psql -c "select pg_stop_backup();"

    section c replaced to below command

    rsync -cva --inplace --exclude=*pg_xlog* /var/lib/pgsql/9.4/data/ node2ip:/data/; (facing permission denied error when i execute this command)

    thanks in advance

    Have you consideredrunning rsync in deamon mode on the target system.
    That way the permissons will be solved and its generally more secure
    The sending command then just refers to an alias directory which the target system will use
