Unanswered: Mirroring Setup On Existing AlwaysOn

    Here is the scenario...

    1. Existing AlwaysOn setup between Server A and Server B. We need to add DR server to this existing AlwaysOn setup.
    2. The DR server is in different data center (different domains), however we have connectivity between these two servers.
    3. We are planning to add DBs as Mirroring databases on DR server using Certificates.
    4. At present we have configured log shipping on DR Server, until we come up with proper plan for Mirroring.
    5. We know Mirroring will be deprecated in future SQL Editions, however right now we are not worrying about it.

    Problem :

    1. Existing AlwaysOn endpoint is not created with Certificates. So, we cannot use it for setting up SQL Mirroring on DR Server.
    2. How we can add Mirroring DR server to existing AlwaysOn setup without disturbing it or with minimum downtime ?
    3. Which are the best approaches we should think about before we go ahead ?
    4. Pros / Cons ?

I haven't done this myself, but have you looked at Brent Ozar's site? They have a whole section dedicated to AlwaysOn.

We have dropped this idea as SQL Server don't allow it, please check following link, search with "Not be configured for database mirroring".

For now we are settled with AlwaysOn + Log Shipping, however in the future we are thinking to change infrastructure so we can sync DR as AlwaysOn.

    Mirroring Setup On Existing AlwaysOn

"Deploy FCI3 as an intermediate FCI with database admin privileges. Redirect Database Mirroring to FCI3t, reconfigure FC12 with SQL Server, and make FCI3 the new primary FCI to create availability. Enable AlwaysOn Availability Groups on FCI13 to FCI12
    and reconfigure the client application."
