Unanswered: Updating ulimit for db2 fenced user

    Hi,
We have been getting memory related errors on the diag and I see IBM is suggesting to increase 'data' value on the ulimit for fenced user.
I am about to request my Unix admin to update this, but I am not sure if we need to recycle the db2 instance. We have feepfenced=YES and I want to know if it is possible to resolve this without an outage.

    Error message in diag -
OSERR : ENOMEM (12) "Not enough space"
MESSAGE : Private memory and/or virtual address space exhausted, or data ulimit
    exceeded

Referred to this link - http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docvie...id=swg21470035

    Thanks in advance.

If that DB2-instance has any db2fmp process(es) running then those would have to be stopped. A clean way to do that is to bounce the instance, but there may be alternatives - check with IBM
