    Question Unanswered: how can I take single database backup ?

    how can I back up a single database , I want to back up a single database and restore in the future . are there any commands to do single database back up ?

    Normally, Informix does not support backing up single databases.
    If you are lucky to use tenant databases, you can now restore them from version 12.10.xC6 onwards, see here for a guide:

    Anyway, if you are not, you have to use migration tools like dbexport/-import, external tables or high performance loader to restore your data.

    you can also check using Art Kagel's myschema family of tools to perform these tasks
    You can find them in the iiug website check utils2_ak and utils4_ak

    While there, you can register IIUG, it is free, and you will find there a huge amount of information;

    There are many ways you can take back of table.

    BCP (BULK COPY PROGRAM)
    Generate Table Script with data
    Make a copy of table using SELECT INTO
    SAVE Table Data Directly in a Flat file
    Export Data using SSIS to any destination
