    RDBMS - what can I do to get query results faster?

    In a few weeks I am supposed to answear this question. What can I do in my Relational Database to get query answear faster?

    My first thought - well planned set of views. But is there anything else I could do????

    The answer probably depends more on the class that you are taking and what the instructor has covered (personal bias) than any objective measure. In order to get the best marks on the project you'll need to refer to the class materials and your notes from lectures.

    In theory, theory and practice are identical. In practice, theory and practice are unrelated.

    it is not a course ending question, it's more like a question for discussion, based on general db knowledge.

    First thought - views

    Second thought - proper indexes based on typical queries

    any more ideas?
