Unanswered: Troubles dsmapipw - *** Server signon failed: (138) TA component not a root and/or SU

    Hello Community,

with the db2inst1 User I receive the following message after trying to set a new password:

*** Server signon failed: (138) TA component not a root and/or SUID program.

What does it mean? What can I do?

And the command db2adutl query delivers the following message:
Error: Initialize session failed with TSM return code 138

Can anyone help to resolve these problems? Thanks

Are you running that command as root ?
Have you ensure the db2inst1 is stopped while you are running that command?
If the problem persists when you run it as root with the instance stopped, then look in the TSM error log for your TSM client-node for more details.

    Hello,
    thanks for reply
I run the command with root, it was successful, before I stopped the db2 instance.
After this, when I change to the instanceowner and try db2adutl command,
    I received the following message:
Error: Initialize session failed with TSM return code 138.

    Stop the DB2-instance fully.
    Repeat the dsmapipw .
    Restart the DB2-instance.

    Hi,

the problem was that on the file dsmtca the sticky bit wasn't set. After setting the sticky bit i was able to backup the database without any problem into tsm and run the db2adutl command successfully.
    Thanks for your help.
