Unanswered: Dlookup on 2 table with same field

    MICROSOFT ACCESS 2010

    Hi,

Please help me to write a VBA dlookup.

    1. Will search on 1st table and give the value
    2. If no value was found will go to 2nd table to do lookup.

I already use UNION in SQL to link the 2 table but the problem is the data retrieval was very slow compare if you used single table.

    Regards,
    ...memento

so rather than use a dlookup, which in itself is quite slow, how about posting the actual SQL you are using, the table design. from what you have said so far I suspect a simple JOJN or LEFT JOIN would do the job within a query.
I'd rather be riding on the Tiger 800 or the Norton

The question that comes to me is why would you have the same type of data in two different Tables? This kind of yells "Normalization problems!"

    Hope this helps!

The problem with making anything foolproof...is that fools are so darn ingenious!
