    Unanswered: abnormal backup size

    db2 V 10.5 FP 5
    Aix 7.1

    Hi

    have a database size of 570 G, while running offline backup the size shows in db2 list utilities show more than 100 T

    While checking the diag log, found error related to not able to write to recovery history file, prune the history file and backup started with proper TOTAL WORKS figure and completed with actual size

    earlier before prune total works of db2 list utilities was also increasing.

    Recovery history retention (days) (REC_HIS_RETENTN) = 10
    Auto deletion of recovery objects (AUTO_DEL_REC_OBJ) = ON
    Number of database backups to retain (NUM_DB_BACKUPS) = 12


    db2 was not able to prune the recovery history file, as it was not able to access the backup media file.

    but what caused abnormal size calculation for db2 was not clear
