Question Unanswered: Hyperlinking to Documents in the PC

    Hey there!

I'll need to be doing an excel sheet with hyperlinks (clickable text) to PDF documents (several, like thousands eventually). The issue is any time I change the title or place (path) of any of them, the hyperlink will stop working, since it doesn't change accordingly automatically. Having said that, I won't be able to change all of the manually.
How can I avoid this issue?

    Thanks in advance!

PS: Also, if excel won't do it, can you recommend a software that would (has to be free tho)

    Hi,
It depends on what it likely to change in the file name / file path?
If the file path is likely to be very similar to, or they are all saved in the same folder then I would use a hidden sheet with each section of the file path in different cells and reference them in a hyperlink formula. That way you only need to change the cells in the hidden sheet and it will update all the hyperlinks.
Probably wouldn't work so well for the file names as I assume every file name will be different. Why would you be changing the file names? Is it dates?
