    Unanswered: Standby Redo Log creation

Hi. Can somebody please explain to me how Oracle names(numbers) the standby redo log thread if a thread number isn't stated explicitly in the add log command? Does it start at 1 or 0? Or does it just match the thread number of the primary?

Also how would it handle this if the primary and standby were both RAC DBs? Thanks.

If the thread number isn't specified explicitly in the command then by default Oracle will make it equal to the instance id.
