    Incremental backup and recovery.
    db2 restore database dbname incremental auto use tsm taken at timestamp

    db2adutl doesn't restore the database itself.
    You can use it to extract a backup image from TSM to disk, and then run db2 RESTORE (I'm not sure if you can use it with the AUTO clause) command using this extracted backup image.

    suppose i have to extract a backup image from tsm to disk,now the backup image placed in filesystem. Then why we have mentioned use tsm option in restore command?

    We don't use the 'use tsm' clause in this case, of course.
    We use the 'from the_directory_containing_the_image' clause instead.
