    Unanswered: DB2 memory monitoring

    Hi Guys,

    Env:
    OS: AIX 7.1
    DB2 V10.5 FP 5
    RAM: 8 GB

I need some help in understanding DB2 memory monitoring, I used db2mtrk -i -d -a -m -v, MON_GET_MEMORY_SET and db2top to measure DB2 memory usage, all these showed that DB2 is using 320 MB maximum.

Next I checked the db2sysc process using topas and it was showing as below:

    DATA TEXT PAGE PGFAULTS
USER PID PPID PRI NI RES RES SPACE TIME CPU% I/O OTH COMMAND
    db2inst1 8061066 9175108 60 20 57.3M 180K 57.3M 166:57 0.1 0 0 db2sysc

You can see that DATA RES, TEXT RES is only using 57.3 M each.

Next I used svmon as follows:
    Unit: MB

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pid Command Inuse Pin Pgsp Virtual
    8061066 db2sysc 717.95 37.8 0 714.58

You can see that db2sysc is only using 0.70 GB in Inuse, Virtual and Pagedin as 37.8.

I need help in understanding how to monitor the DB2 using different tools and how to use them.
