Answered: DB2 Advanced Enterprise Server Edition | confusion

    Hello All,

    I have Upgraded form DB2 9.7 FP7 to DB2 10.5 fp 8 on AIX 7.1 DEV server, installation successful.
While installing have Selected " SERVER " for DB2 product form below list.

Specify one of the following keywords to install DB2 products.

    SERVER
    CONSV
    EXP
    CLIENT
    RTCL

After installation completed, when i validated db2 licence, i found DB2 Advanced Enterprise Server Edition on db2 10.5.

And when we install DB2 9.7 we selected ESE "Enterprise Server Edition".

So my doubt is. Is ESE not available on DB2 10.5 ? or I have to do any additional step for ESE ?

    Please suggest me ?

"This is a trial lisence which was probably installed automatically, since it was found in the db2/license directory of the db2 10.5 installation image.
You should suggest the customer to install a license (db2*.lic file), which was purchased by them for this system, and remove this one with the db2licm utility."

The edition of DB2 V10.5 that you are licensed for depends on the "*.lic" file that you used when running db2licm
If you have the ESE licence file and add that with db2licm, then you are licensed for the ESE.
