Unanswered: How to do a sum of a count

    Hello,

I have four columns that I was able to make a query to count results. The columns are for apartment applications, and they can do up to four. Each cell shows where they applied. So I have four totals that show how many applications were filed, for if they only did one app, or two apps, or three apps, and four.

Really, I just want to know the grand total of the number of apps that were done. So, I think i want a sum of those four counts. How do I do that? Is it part of the same query, or is it a report?

    Thank you in advance.

I would do the count part of it in a query and save the sorting for the report.

It would be nice if you showed you query but There are several ways to give totals. If to want Row Totals just add a column that adds the columns you want to (A+B+C+D) as RowTotal. If you want column total I suggest a UNION. Remember with the union you need the same number of columns, UNION SELECT ' ', TotalA, TotalB, TotalC, TotalD. If you can write a query to total the columns you can do this.
