    Unanswered: Db2 ports used

    Hello

    Basic question :

Facts : DB2 instance is configured to listen on TCP/IP port 60000
Remote DB2 clients want to connect to this DB2 instance and there is a firewall between client and server.

Question : Is it sufficient to open port 60000 on this firewall to enable communication between client and server ? The reason why I ask is that I got confused after I launched 'get snapshot for applications all' command and looked at appl_id field.
This field contains IP address - port number and timestamp and this port is clearly not port 60000. So it seems DB2 instance talks to the remote clients on a different port as the database manager port 60000. So should other ports be opened on the firewall ?

    Thanks and best regards

    Filip

You see the remote (client) port number in the application id.
You can see this client address : port value in the 'Foreign Address' field in the output of the following command on server:

    netstat -an | grep 60000
