Angry Unanswered: SSRS 2008 access denied when deploying reports

I just got a new computer. Installed SS2008R2. I have a existing BIDS project in VS2008. I need to deploy it to the local server. I have spend a couple of days trying so it time to get some expert advice. I have given my domain\userid system administrator and system user on the report server. I have made the report URL a site trusted site, I have added my id as a database owner. I still can't deploy report to the server. It been awhile since I set up this on my old computer but I don't remember it being this difficult. Dose anyone know what I am missing?

This answer on Stack Exchange has an interesting test. Can you navigate to the report server, and create folders?
