    Unanswered: Export Fixed format files using VBA in Access 97

    This should be very simple but for some reason I have not been able to do this successfully. I am a newbie to Access VBA. I have a schema.ini file in the output file directory. The argument after acExportFixed is supposed to be a specification file. Have not been able to find an example.

    I have been able to bypass the TransferText for importing using a "Select" statement, but that is less than optimum.

    DoCmd.TransferText acExportFixed,, "Table1", "C:\projects\fileout.txt"

    Thank you

    Not sure if this answers your question or not, but here's something I did a while back...

    Dim stDocName As String
    Dim X As Date
    X = Forms!frm.Text4.Value
    stDocName = "rpt_closures_TL"
    DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, stDocName, , _
    "C:\backup\!Work\!Databases\!2001\Written_Corr\TL_ Exports\TLClosures" & Left(X, 2) & Mid(X, 4, 2) & ".txt"
    End Function
