Unanswered: User Login Fails in ASP Page

I recently installed the developer version of SQL Server 2000 on my XP Pro machine. I'm using it to develop an ASP site.

I created a DSN but I am unable to connect to it.

I get the following error when using Windows NT authentication:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80040E4D)
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'uID'.
    /test_sql.asp, line 14

It will not allow me to choose SQL Server authentication using a login ID and password. The reason it gives is: "Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection."

I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have.

    Post Permission

your problem depict that sql server is not authenticating your login.
for asp pages you should provide permissions of tables to these users

    --- iwam_machinename and ---- iuser_macinename

as IIS always use both of the above users login to connect to sql server.

Unless you've added a user called 'uid' it's looks as tho there is a problem with your DSN.. If you can't use Trusted Authentication, try using the 'sa' login with a blank password. (Unless you gave SQL a non-blank SA password, in which case use the correct password )
