    Exclamation Unanswered: Error 1041 and 12571.

    Hi,

    I have a database at a remote site.
    I am able to log on to SQL and also, I am able to ping the server.
    But when I try to save a particular file on the database, in the form of a
    Record, I get an error- 1041 and TNS 12571

    ORA-01041 internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist

    Cause: Pointer to HSTDEF extension in HSTDEF is null.
    Action: Contact Oracle Customer Support.

    TNS-12571 TNSacket writer failure

    Cause: An error occurred during a data send. This message is not normally visible to the user.
    Action: For further details, turn on tracing and re-execute the operation. If the error persists, contact Oracle Customer
    Support.

    Could you please help on this ?

    Hello!!!
    the error you get should depend form the connection being broken for some reason.

    Does this produce some alert in the alert log? Also try to look in the bdump and/or udump direcotories where you souuld find a trace file describing the reason that produced the error.

    let me know...
