Post Unanswered: Upgrade Wizard from 6.5 to 7.0 Failed

I just attempted an upgrade from SQL Server (SS) 6.5 to 7.0. This was done on a single server. I did all the prep work, backups & such. Ran the install for 7.0, which prompted to upgrade the existing 6.5 server. I responded 'yes'. During the process, everything seemed to go well. Toward the end of the upgrade, the process failed, with a "non-fatal upgrade error - 193" and the process stopped. SS 7 popped up saying the installation had finished and so it had of SS 7.0 only.
Now, I need to upgrade the 6.5 DB to 7.0. The name of the servers is the same. When I try the onboard upgrade utility in SS 7, it bombs telling me the import server must be 7.x. Duh! I just installed 7.0 and it's up and running.

    Any suggestions?

    I suggest that you
Restore your backup and try again.

If that fails (and you don't have ms support)

    Get a new machine.
    install mssql7.0
use mssql 7.0 to dts your 6.5 db do a manual upgrade.

    Good luck
