Unhappy Unanswered: bulk copy - problem with OLE DB provider

I cannot fill a table with data from a text file. I generated the text file under the DOS command line:
    C:\>bcp spring2.dbo.UmTRight out d:\tmp.txt -c -Usa -P -SCH03W0261
The file was created without any problems.

The I tried to read in the data with an SQL statement (within Query Analyzer):
    BULK INSERT UmTRight FROM 'D:\tmp.txt'
    The message was:
    Server: Msg 7302, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Could not create an instance of OLE DB provider 'STREAM'.

    The environment:
    Windows 2000 SP2; SQL Server 7.0 Desktop Edition SP2; MDAC 2.7
On other PC's it works fine.

    Who can help ?

I tried performing a bulk insert from a plain text file with tab-delimited columns, and it worked perfectly (I'm running SQL Server 2000).

Perhaps something in your text file requires that you provide some more options in your bulk insert statement? I checked in Books Online, and there are quite a number of available options.

    I also found this:

"Only members of the sysadmin and bulkadmin fixed server roles can execute BULK INSERT."

I don't know if this is of any help to you though...
