    Question Unanswered: Export problems, please help me :(

    Hi all,
    I really hope someone of u can help me...
    ...this is the problem:
    I'm trying to export a schema of my DB istance 'couse I have 2 change chraset, so...I want 2 be sure 2 save datas before

    this is what I do:

    exp system/****** file=/export/newsletter-2002-02-12.dmp FEEDBACK=100 owner=NEWSLETTER

    and this is what happen:

    I've never come across this error, but you might try extracting the DDL for the synonyms before the export. Delete the synonyms, do the export then recreate the synonyms after the import is all over.

    It doesn't fix the problem, but it's a workaround.

    Hello!!!

    This error may occur if you run imp/exp utility whose version is different from the version of the database, but this seens not to be your case.

    However you may try to re-run (as SYS) catalog.sql and catproc.sql on your db.
    These scripts should be in your ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin

    These scripts re-create a number of system objects: if something went wrong in the packages that manage import/export this should fix.

    Let me know if it works,

    I re-runned catalog & catproc scripts bu, anything...export doen't work (

    any other suggestion???

    Another possible cause is the incorrect installation of the JVM, since you're on 8i.

    You may try to re-install using ORACLE_HOME/javavm/install/initjvm.sql

    This may take a while, since the complete JVM environment is recreated and all the core classes need to be resolved

    Just for curiosity, which platform are you on?
