    Unanswered: SQL0206 Errors

I'm fairly new to all of this. So if this is a retarded question please forgive me.

I'm trying to access an AS400 running DB2 from within Visual Basic.

I can connect to the server and retrieve records from a table, until I try to throw a LIKE clause in my SQL.

I assume I'm doing something wrong with my syntax, but I don't know what. Any help would be appreciated.

    Here's my SQL statement:

    Select MHTEST.CUSTOMERS.CUSTID, MHTEST.CUSTOMERS.NAME From MHTEST.CUSTOMERS WHERE MHTEST.CUSTOMERS.NAME LIKE "A*"

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.

    THe sql0206 returns something like:

SQL0206N "<name>" is not valid in the context where it is
    used.

What was the value you getting for the "<name>" field? That might help pinpoint where the concern is.

I found my mistake. I was using double quotes, not single quotes.
