Unanswered: SQL Server does not exist or access denied

Using ASP to connect to SQL Server, I am getting intermittent faults whereby I get the error message SQL Server does not exist or Access denied.

This can be fixed by restarting IIS.

Can anyone shed any light on why these occur as this is becoming most irritating and may lose me some customers.

    All the best

Oops forgot to say we are using SQL Server 2000 and IIS 5.0 and that the problem has only started occurring since we upgraded to SQL Server 2000
