    There's no easy comparison between Oracle9i and SQL2000

    It depends of a lot of things like what kind of application, availability, size, cost, response times you need.

    What abt in terms of the following:

    1) Data reliability/security
    2) Cost effectiveness
    3) Ease of data management
    4) Future expansion (more data)
    5) Others

    Talking That is not the same thing

    MS'SQL Server 2000 is mainly for small-middle corporation,while oracle's oracle 9i is for large company.
    MSSQL is mainly for Windows 2000,although it may have enterprise edition for windows 2k advanced server.
    Oracle 9i is mainly for Unix.like AIX,HP UNIX,SUN Solaris etc. Although Oracle has it winnt edition product.
