We have a combined WIN 2k and NT 4.0 shop running SQL Server 7.0. All service packs are up to date.
Recently we upgraded an OS of one of our Database servers from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000. A short time later we installed a new version of the data load program that was created using Visual Basic 6.0.
The program takes in a text file then uses ADO to write data to the database.
Our problem is that with the new version of the data load program we are no longer able to restore the database. We get the following errors:
Server: Msg 3270, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
An interal consistency error occurred. Contact Technical Support for assistance.
Server: Msg 3013, Level 16, State 1, Line 1
Backup or restore opertaion terminating abnormally.
These are the only messages we get, nothing else appears in the SQL Logs or the System Event logs. DBCC finds 0 errors.
In trying to resolve the problem we have determined that the process operates fine on an NT 4.0 system, but not on a WIN 2K system.
