    Unanswered: problems connecting to AS/400

    Hello,

    I'm trying to connect to a AS400 DB2 database from a HP-UX 11 machine with DB2 version 7.1

For doing this, I used the following commands: (8471 is the correct port)

db2> catalog tcpip node KGB remote juno server 8471
    db2> catalog dcs database BBX
db2> catalog database BBX at node KGB authentication dcs

The works perfectly, but when I try to connect, that DB2 client on HP-UX hangs, and the process on the AS400 starts running at 90%......
and we manually need to kill that process..

    db2> connect to KGB
    _
(and here he starts 'hanging', and CPU goes to 90% on AS/400 side)

DOes somewhone know what the problem can be, or what I'm doing wrong?

    tnx in advance,

    Bart

Caould you connect to AS/400 from client?
I think you have to catalog tcpip node with option "ostype OS400"
    so looks like
catalog tcpip node KGB remote juno server 8471 ostype OS400?

I also tried it with the 'ostype' option, but that gave the same results.

Is it possible that the client isn't compatible with the server?
I'm now using the latest client from IBM, while the server is only version 4.x
