    Unanswered: Maximum Number of Connection in DB2

    Hi Guys,

    I wanted to know...how to increase the number of connections in db2 at a time.

    My application shows "No. of maximum Connections already opened"..or something like that. So i need to increase the no. of connections in db2.

    regards,

    More specific

    Hi,
    Manju is absolutely correct, but to be more specific, just go through the message.

    The parameter to be set is:

    MAXAPPLS {maxappls = 5 * (number of nodes) + (peak number of active applications)}

    While changing this parameter we should keep one thing in mind and that is follow this rule:
    maxappls*maxlocks>=100

    where maxlocks is

    maxlocks = 100 *(512 locks per application* 32 bytes per lock* 2) / (locklist * 4096 bytes)

    These are interrelated configuration parameters which are to be properly configured to avoid errors.
