    Question Unanswered: Write Conflict Error

    Hi All,

I am receiving a Write Conflict Error when trying to update a record via a save button. Behind my save button, I am using a sql update statement to make the change in the database. Does anyone have any idea why this error is occuring? I am connecting to the database using Oracle ODBC drivers. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

Take a look at the definition of your table in Oracle.
Open the schema manager. (I don't believe you can see this using DESC in sql plus)

Take a look at the definition of the columns that have a number datatype. If the precision is not defined, you won't be able to insert records through access.

To solve this, you must empty your table first. It is not possible to change the precision when there are records in your table. Or create a similar table using zero presicions and than insert the records from the old table. Rename the new one.

I don't know if this a solution for your problem but it definately worked for me.
