Question Unanswered: No start database manager was issued

I'm trying to create tables in my database but am getting this error:

"No start database manager was issued".

I'm logged in as a administrator and using DB2 7.1 UDB EE on Win2000. I don't think there are more than 10 connections to my database.

    Does anybody have any suggestions?

    Thanks.

    Hi,
Please check in the services whether the DB2 services have been started or not.
For such problems you can get solution from the db2diag.log file.
If we get no start database error, i feel you should not get any connections.Just check if this occurs.
Check the db2diag.log file for yourself and still if it is unresolved , let us know.

Hi Prashant and thanks for the reply.

Yes, the services had been started and the service for my instance (ie the database manager) stopped after I encountered the error. I checked db2diag.log but it had no error message.

I also checked NT event log and found out that my instanced service was terminated with a service-specific error 4294966270.

    Have you seen it before?

The machine I use is Compaq 4-way and OS is Win2k Advanced Server.

    Red face Specific error 4294966270

Have you installed the DB2 in the default directory? I have a feeling that because I installed it in a custom one, I get some bonus errors.
