    Unanswered: Locking and Filegroups

Currently I have read-only tables as such in queries:

Select * from TableA (WITH NOLOCK)

Would it be beneficial to place all of the read-only tables on its own filegroup and make the filegroup read-only?

    (SQL2000 on Windows2000)

    Thanks

    Michael

Its very benefical to keep all the read only tables in one filegroup and you can't make filegroup as read only. You can make database as read only.

Thanks for the info, BOL states a Filegroup can be made read-only in SQL 2000 using the ALTER DATABASE command. (Look under Filegroups, read-only in BOL. Could anyone else provide any insight on this.
