    Cool

    Mathew,

RECO process is always automatically started whenever Distributed Transactions are enabled and the Distributed Option must be installed in order for the Recoverer (RECO) process to be automatically started when STARTUP is issued.

Here are some parameters related to RECO process:

    DISTRIBUTED_TRANSACTONS
    DBLINK_ENCRYPT_LOGIN
    DISTRIBUTED_RECOVERY_CONNECTION_HOLD_TIME
    MAX_TRANSACTION_BRANCHES
    OPEN_LINKS_PER_INSTANCE
    REMOTE_DEPENDENCIES_MODE
    OPEN_LINKS

The DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT parameter marks the number of seconds that distributed transactions will wait for locked objects. The default setting is 60 seconds with a range of 60-300 seconds.

For Oracle8i, use: _DISTRIBUTED_LOCK_TIMEOUT (notice the '_' before the parameter name)

Check the Oracle docs for detailed description of those parameters.
