    Red face Unanswered: Fail to create DB by DBCA

    I have installed Oracle9i to a Linux machine. After the installation, I tried to use DBCA to create a seed database with type "General Purpose". However, I met the following error, no matter I chose 'Dedicated Server Mode' or 'Shared Server Mode'.
    ORA-00101: invalid specification for system parameter DISPATCHERS

    Can anyone help me?
    Thanks in advance.

    The syntax for the MTS_DISPATCHERS parameter is incorrect.Enter the MTS_DISPATCHERS parameter into the initialization parameter file with the correct syntax and then shut down and restart the
    instance.

    I checked the parameter in init.ora before. I could only find parameter "dispatchers", but not "mts_dispatcher".
    Below is the parameter of "dispatchers" in my init.ora.

    dispatchers="(PROTOCOL=TCP)(SER=MODOSE)", "(PROTOCOL=TCP) (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.GiopServer)", "(PROTOCOL=TCP) (PRE=oracle.aurora.server.SGiopServer)", "(protocol=TCP)(con=5)"

    Thanks in advance

    please set this and try it out

    DISPATCHERS="(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=tcp)
    (HOST=10.1.1.201)(PORT=5000))(DISPATCHERS=2)"

    or for connection pooling

    DISPATCHERS="(PROTOCOL=tcp)(DISPATCHERS=1)(POOL=on )(TICK=1) (CONNECTIONS=1000)(SESSIONS=4000)"

    Connection pooling can allow each dispatcher 1,000 connections and 4,000 sessions for TCP/IP and 2,500 sessions for TCP/IP with SSL.
