Unanswered: No raiserror in UDF. How to check parameters

    Hey there,

Well, it seems that you can't call RAISERROR from within a UDF. Now how am i supposed to check the parameters and stop execution of the UDF when i think the parameters arent't correct. Leave it up to the application to check...return NULL if the paramaters aren't correct...any other solutions?

I've never done that, but I'd try to declare @Error and return (@Error int) into the @parameterName.
Also I'd try calling the sp that returns @@Error in the UDF.
