Unanswered: confusing huge values for the Identity Ranges for Subscriptions
I am trying to use Replication for my application , and I ran into a problem . I decided to use Snapshot Replication with qeued updating for the subsciptions. So I have an identity column , I set it as not for replication , I also set the range for Identity and the threshold , but I want to know why have such big holes in the identity column values. If I schedule the Distribution Agent to run every minute, it increases the Next Range Starting Value with big values. So even if the current range of a table did not get to the percent of threshold, it gets a new range. In about an hour I get huge values for the Next Range ...
I don't get it, why the publisher keeps allocating new ranges of values for subscriptions, when it does'nt need it?
