I am trying to find out whether this command will work in the manner I am thinking of using it.
When running rather long scripts for tables of about 100 million rows, I am looking for a way, ir an issue comes up, to stop the batch query and roll back only to a specific save point. Currently, even when using smaller commands within the script separated by "GO" statements, a roll back may well go all the way back, undoing actions that were completed fine.
Based on the decriptions I have been able to find, it looks as though the Save Transaction would fit the bill.
I am looking for comments/suggestions/opinions, etc.. from others who have used this function and whether I am on the right track or not.
