    Cool

Make sure that you have all the software requirements for OPS:

    1. AIX 4.3.2+ (4.3.3 has been certified recently). For more info on the certification refer to http://www.oracle.com/ibm/rs6000

    2. HACMP/ES 4.3
With Oracle8i, the ES (Enhanced Scalability) component which is an add-on to HACMP is mandatory.

    3. PSSP 3.1
This is mandatory even if the cluster functions like a pure RS/6000 cluster with shared disk architecture rather than a shared nothing architecture.

    4. RVSD 3.1
The Recoverable Virtual Shared Disk software is also mandatory even if the implementation is a CLVM one rather than a virtual shared disk or a hashed shared disk.

    Then verify HACMP/ES is installed.
    Use the following command:

    % lslpp -l | grep rsct
    % lslpp -l | grep -i hacmp
    % lslpp -l ssp.ha_topsvcs.compat

Check and verify the hagsuser group was created

    % grep hags /etc/group

Make sure hags is up and running.

    %lssrc -l -s hags

    Hope that helps,

    Thanks for your post reply!
My hardware environment is two rs/6000 box ( M80 ,not sp2)with aix 4.3.3.0.10 (the latest patch level) , hacmp/es is version 4.4 ,but no pssp or rvsd filesets installed . I think that the problem is associated with the "hags" subsystem, and i found that the hags subsystem is replace by an other subsystem called " grpsvcs" in my environment when i check the "/usr/sbin/rsct/bin/hags" script .Do you means that i can not create ops db without pssp and rvsd even though i have share storage system between the two box? but the installation guide (a85469.pdf) does not mention that ,or the guide is out_date?

Sorry for the confusion. That was for SP2 not for M80 machines. In your case PSSP and RVSD are not neccessary.

You also should have your raw devices configured, right? Do you have at least 50 Mb raw device for the control files sets?

    Hope that helps,
