    an example i managed to work out myself (very basic obviously hehe) was

    for the ORDER_DATE field the validation rule would be >Date() so that the Order date cannot be in the past

    hope this helps u help me

    Well Matt,

    I am not sure how much help I can be. Your asking for something that is entirely up to your needs. Perhaps you should be more specific with your questions on what your tying to accomplish. There are hundreds of different ways to set up validation rules, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

    Sorry...

    no worries m8 i see what your saying

    i dont know if this will help but ill give some examples and maybe u can offer some validation?

    here goes

    Field name = ORDER_DEVPOSTCODE which is the delivery post code

    the input mask is >AAA&&AAA

    any idea what the validation rule would be for this? or does the information ive given you not relate to the validation rule at all?

    sorry i cant be more help but i hardly have any idea what to do

    Actually,

    I don't think you need to apply validation rules to all of your fields. Only apply them for the ones that can only have specific information. A zip code field would only have a validation if you wanted specific zip codes entered. If the field is made to accept any zip code you don't want to put a validation rule on it. A good validation rule is for fields that deal with years, if you only want to enter records for the years 2001 and 2002 then you would apply that rule.

    Does this help?
