    Unanswered: Sequences in DB2

Oracle SQL has a sequence object that generates unique integers.

Is there a corresponding IBM mainframe DB2 object or function?

    db2 sequences

as u've been replied there's sequences within db2 v.7.1 almost similar to oracle sequences, of course the usage of 'em is different.
when runnning DB2 on linux platform there seemed to be misbehaviour with db2 v.7.1 with fixpack 2 or ealier...and there still minor problem when caching sequence values with fp lower than fp6 for DB2 v7.x(i.e. db2 allogates sequece values for each connection, i suppose that is not a desired feature... fp6 corrects this misbehavoiur.)
