Unanswered: Replication forces NT Authentication instead of DB Authentication
In my Visual Basic program I am using Merge Replication to synchronize a Jet4 database to an SQL Server 7 Publication. Works great...as long as I'm logged into my box with an account that doubles as a SysAdmin on SQL Server. i.e. The second I log into my box as a different user, the program crashes with error "The merge process could not initialize the subscription." Log in as a different user that has SQL Server admin privelidges, it works fine. I have explicitly used .PublisherSecurityMode = DB_AUTHENTICATION and .DistributorSecurityMode = DB_AUTHENTICATION, but it seems not to care for the portion of the replication that would quickly allow an anonymous addition of a server to replicate to. It relies on the NT authentication of the user logged into the box instead of the explicitly supplied DB username and password.
