    Unanswered: concatenating fields in a query

    does anybody know if it's possible to return a concatonated field from a query in access? i know you can do this in oracle, but i'm not exactly running oracle here =(

    basically, i have two fields, FirstName, LastName, from a table that i want returned as a single field

    pseudo-sql:
    SELECT id, CONCAT(FirstName, LastName) AS Name FROM Contacts;

    anybody know what i'm even talking about? thanks!

    Try this

    SELECT id, [FirstName] & "yourtext" & [LastName] AS Name FROM Contacts;

    This is how you do it without using JET SQL :
    Type in empty column name of your new field, starting with the name of the field like:

    Fullname: "First Name"&""&"Last Name".

    The "" in between are just separating the two fields, otherwise they stick together.
