    Unanswered: Access 2000 password removal....help!

I have an Access 2000 db that only has a file password. However, something went wrong with it. Now, when I open up the database, and am prompted for the password, it doesn't accept it. After I type it in (with the caps lock off) and click ok, nothing happens, no response, nothing. However if I type in a wrong password i says "Invalid Password" as it should. I wanted to compact and repair, but, in order to do that, the password is needed to perform the operation. The same goes for importing all the database objects into a new blank database. Is there any way to fix this?

Another option is to use the /decompile switch (as in "msaccess.exe c:\mydb.mdb /decompile"). It will still ask you for the password but it might be able to run at least the decompile then making the db possibly accassable again. If that doesn't help I fear you'll have to look for password retrieval software/companies
