I am MS SQL Server Developer and DBA for years and still work with Microsoft Enterprise Manager + Query Analyzer . I found them best tools for SQL Server.

Carlos, from your SQL2000 CD, install client tools. This will give you what you are looking for.

If you work with other databases Oracle, DB2 etc, I would suggest you checkout http://www.embarcadero.com/index.asp. This company makes great tools for working in a mixed environment while maintaining a common interface.
