    Unanswered: imnporting to oracle

    hi all,

I would like to import tables from a Image 3000 ( HP ) database into Oracle.
I have an ODBC link set to the HP tables, but now how to connect from within Oracle thses odbc link?

The ideal would be , something in sql plus like
    create table x select * from odbc_linked_image3000_table ;

Even more ideal would be a nice windows interface/tool for importing/exporting data ( alike DTS from MS Sqlserver ).

    Help appreciated...

    greetings,

    ronny

You may do this using Heterogeneous Services (ODBC), or
(if exists) Transparent Gateway from Oracle to Image 3000.

    dmitry,

thx for your input, but this 'Heterogeneous Services'?

What is this? Is this a tool provided by Oracle?
Know I do not have at all knowledge with Image3000... only we have de odbc link functional.
Any solution I want to achieve would need to go via Oracle.

    regards,

    ronny

Yes this functionality is provided by Oracle. You can connect to your Image 3000 DB if you have an ODBC driver for it. You can read the necessary details in Oracle Documentation.
Chapter : Oracle Distributed Database Systems/Oracle Heterogeneous
    Services Concepts

    Hope this helps.
