Unanswered: Append one table to another

I have an Access db in which I need to append one table to another however every year the table being appended will change.

Ex: TrapData has data for 2002
    TrapData2001 needs to be appended
(the queries are set up to use TrapData to produce reports)

Next year TrapData will have data for 2003
TrapData2002 will need to be appended.

Any ideas greatly appreciated. I have to have this done
by Friday. Talk about poor planning..........

In your example, TrapData has data for 2002
and TrapData2001 needs to appended where? To TrapData?

Next year, the 2002 data in TrapData will become TrapData2002 and
TrapData will have data for 2003
then, TrapData2002 needs to be appended where? To TrapData?

Is TrapData supposed to contain 2 yrs worth of data for reporting?

TrapData will always have the current years data. Once a year, I need to append the previous years data to TrapData. Then after reports are run for the current year, all records are deleted from TrapData (after the current year's data is saved to TrapData"year"). I can do this with an append query but since I won't be the user I would like to have a button that would automatically append the previous years data to TrapData.

    Thanks!

I'm thinking you could create a module, to append the records, that would concatenate the name "TrapData" & System Year-1. This would then give you the changing table name from year to year. Hope this helps.
