Unanswered: DB2 user management with group?

In NT os level , I have a user (uxxx), assign it belong to local group ( groupxxx).

login DB2 with db2admin, use command

"grant select on tabxxx to group groupxxx "

login DB2 with user uxxx, want to select * from tabxxx, but get error message, user uxxx do not have proper privilage to select tabxxx.

What's the problem and why group privilage grant not work for the user belong to it???
Can I do is in the Solaris server?

    Thanks for answer

    Hi guyang2000,

Try using group names/user names of length less then 8 characters.

I tried it and it works fine even on NT!!

Re: DB2 user management with group?

If you are using >8 characters as a group name, in the early levels of V7 (i remember till fp3) the error message is not clear ... The error message would just say 'does not have the privelage' but in reality, it is the length of the groupname that would have caused the error ...
