    Unanswered: DB2 commit and export question

    Two questions:

    1 How can I turn the auto commit off for the SQL I input. ( instead of
    DB2 -c "update tablexxx set colxx=A"

    2. I want to export data to a format without " " as delimiter, just BLANK,
    How can I do that.

    Thanks for advice.

    Re: DB2 commit and export question

    1) Include an additional statement at the beginning in the source file

    update command options using c off ;

    or , if you want to set this up at the instance level do

    db2set db2options=+c

    The second setting is a client setting. ie, if u do db2options=+c at the server only local connections take up this setting . the remote connections continue to autocommit. If you are setting this at a client, only the connections from that client take this setting

    2) If you go through the 'Data Movement Guide and Reference' , a topic 'Delimiter Restrictions' in the EXPORT Chapter says,

    A delimiter cannot be binary zero, a line-feed character, a carriage-return, or a blank space.
