Unanswered: Oracle9.2 install on RedHat 7.1

My install on Red Hat Linux 7.1 did not go well.
For one thing I kept having a corrupt data dictionary which
kept the Enterprise Manager from working.
The Oracle Support desk insists that the salesman was wrong
and this is not a valid (certified) software combination.
They are sending me a copy of Oracle 9.01 which is supposedly
a valid copy for Red Hat 7.1

Does anyone else have experience with this ?

if you're asking if I have experience in the 9.2 on RedHat Linux, then No. I chose to put the already documented Oracle 9.0x on my Linux 7.1 installation.

If you want info on that go to:

You'll find some good links there for your project.

And as a further everything you can get your hands on and do as much upfront as you can before starting the installation. It took me 5 days to get a process down properly to get a clean install of both Linux and Oracle.

I installed Oracle 9.2 on Redhat 7.3 with little problems. There was a problem with the CTX stuff that required a tweak in the makefile, but that was all.

Did you encounter any error while installing Oracle?
    What were they?
